The Plant Preservation Committee is seeking additional volunteers to help raise awareness of and find ways to preserve native plants of this area. The Board of this Committee recently met to plan activities for the year which include plant rescue, development of an herb garden and continued expansion of the native plant garden and medicinal plant trial.
On March 5, 2007 there will be an orientation meeting at the Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center for all volunteers and interested individuals. Jennifer Cordier, President of this group and other members of the Board will discuss plans for the year. A tour will be conducted for all areas of interest where volunteers will work. This meeting will be held from 10 a.m. until noon and will be followed by an informal meal. Please bring your own lunch, drinks will be provided. Call Cinda Ramay at (706) 781-2536 for more information.
