Ladies fall to Cats

Sentinel photo/Jared Putnam Kayla Gowder goes up for two.
The Lady Panthers battled the Rabun Lady Cats for the second time this season, falling to 61-48 after Rabun pulled away late in the fourth quarter.

Union led 20-17 in the second period after back-toback layups by Malory O'Steen and Candace Williams, but Rabun was able to execute an 8-0 run that put them ahead 30-22 and they led 34-25 at the half.

In the third quarter the Lady Cats appeared to have the game in hand as they pushed the lead to 15 points with a 41-26 advantage, but the Lady Panthers battled back to close the gap to 47- 44.

However, Rabun dominated the rest of the way, outscoring Union 14-4 in the closing minutes.
