A plea to help a friend To the good citizens of Blairsville and Union County, a friend of all who have shopped at Sears is in need of assistance. Robert Gallagher has fallen very ill. Sepsis shock is usually a fatal illness. Robert has escaped the grasp of death, however, the illness has left his body ravaged. Robert became ill on Sunday, December 17 and was admitted to Union General. When Union General felt they were unable to give the advanced care Robert needed, he was helicoptered to St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Robert spent 12 days in Atlanta with his wife and children traveling back and forth almost daily when they could not spend the night. We are thankful for the blessing that Robert made it through the illness. The problem now lies with his long recovery. Robert has been out of work a month already and will be out for several more weeks. Sepsis shock depletes the muscles of their nutrients and leave you worse than a rag doll. Rehabilitation will take time. Robert has become a great friend to the community through Sears and is always willing to go that extra mile to help all his customers get that extra great deal. Now is the time to show him his and his family your appreciation. This family would never come and ask for assistance, so as a friend, I am asking for them. The medical expenses along with regular daily expenses will be crippling. Any donations, cards and well wishes can be dropped off at Sears. I ask for your prayers and assistance. God bless and thank you, John Milney Sr. |
