Theatre Young Harris presents Guys and Dolls Young Harris College is proud to present the Musical Theatre Young Harris production of Guys and Dolls, the musical based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. Guys and Dolls will be performed February 22-24 at 8:00 p.m. in the Hilda D. Glenn Auditorium. Set amidst New York City's high lights and low life, Guys and Dolls is an engaging fable of love, marriage and temperance on Damon Runyon's 1930s Broadway. While Nathan Detroit, proprietor of the "oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York" evades marriage to Adelaide, his chorus-girl fiancée of fourteen years, gambler Sky Masterson revels in his reputation as a high roller and notorious womanizer. But when Nathan bets Sky that even he cannot sweep Miss Sarah Brown, the prim Salvation Army lass, off to Havana, everyone gets more that they bargained for. Filled with some of Broadway's most memorable music - "A Bushel and a Peck," "Guys and Dolls," "Luck be a Lady" - Guys and Dolls won the 1950 Tony awards for Best Musical, Best Score and Lyrics, and Best Book, and the 1950 Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical. Don't miss this classic of the American theatre! Reservations or ticket information may be obtained by calling the Box Office at (706) 379-4307.
