To the Editor:

I was driving down the road recently admiring a pink skyline that stretched across miles of blue ridges. I thought to myself how this skyline was not any different from the skylines I see every day. I realized I take this area for granted. When I was small my family and I would take vacations to the mountains and I can remember how magical it was to drive through Helen, over the mountain, to Hiawassee. I constantly forgot how lucky I am to live here now. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The air is always clean and cool. If I'm up for an adventure I don't have to go far.

Taking the North Georgia mountains for granted should be a crime. The next time you are out driving or walking, take a look at the ridge line and know how lucky you are to live here.
