Development plans by the Jim Glanton firm for a new housing project in the city was approved. The project is called Eagles Bluff and is located on Wellborn Mountain (Patrice and Jackson Streets). It will include 12 units and four buildings, some of which are townhouses and a range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units. Also approved for building was a new 108-seat restaurant off highway 19/129 south and to the right of the old Shoe Factory. The developer and property owner is Allen Patton who says it is "scheduled for completion in the spring," and has been leased to another party for a "steak housetype" restaurant.

Christmas light need to be replaced throughout the city and are presently available at around 140 percent off. If purchased soon, total cost would run around $15,000.00.

The City Council approved an overrun on grass and dirt work for the airport expansion of $58,515.48.

The Downtown Development Authority Plans were also approved by the Council.

The City's Sewer and Water plant just received what Mayor Jim Conley calls "the best I've seen," by the Environmental Protection Department. Greg DeMuth gave a report of the plant stating that it survived well the recent freezes.

Gary Freeman was reappointed City Attorney for 2007.

Some of the new business was to approve three new business licenses and two changes in business license.

Department heads provided reports and the meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
