Do you need a ride to and from your treatment sessions? A lack of transportation should not be the reason why cancer patients do not receive the life-saving cancer treatment they need. The American Cancer Society offers their Road to Recovery program to help transport cancer patients to and from their treatment. The Society has a tollfree number that you may call, and an operator will put you in touch with local volunteers that give cancer patients without personal transportation rides to and from their cancer treatment sessions. A place to share your thoughts and feelings and grow together with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one. AARP fights Identity Theft The local chapter of AARP will have petitions available at the next meeting on February 8th to present to the Legislature during an upcoming visit. A local instance of identity theft has just been brought to our attention and we are going to fight for the bill that will lock access to personal credit information and financial records. Model railroaders meeting All model railroaders are invited to our next meeting to be held on Monday February 5.2007. Hey! - you didn't hear it from me, but if I were you I would go ahead and put a big red circle around that date on my calendar right now because you and I both know if it's something the Auxiliary is doing it's gonna be good.
