Local artist to be included in Who's Who in American Art

Artist Colleen Sterling.
Blairsville resident and artist, Colleen Sterling, has been notified that her biographical data has been included in the 27th Edition of the Marquis Who's Who in American Art. The 27th edition lists entrants for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Colleen has been a practicing professional artist for over 30 years, exhibiting her art in galleries, universities, and museum settings throughout the United States. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections both in the U.S. and Europe. One of her artworks is also included in the museum collection at the Hunter Museum of American Art in Chattanooga, Tenn.

In recent years Colleen has become active as an arts educator, conducting private lessons out of her Blairsville studio. There, she has also offered group workshops for adults, as well as hosting figure study sessions for professional artists. She has taught drawing and painting to kids and adults at the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association in Blue Ridge, as well as occasional courses for adults through the Institute of Continuing Learning at Young Harris College.
