Rescue plants before you build

Both pink and yellow lady slippers are on the endangered plant list.
The North Georgia Mountain area is known to be a home to the most diverse plant population in the nation, being the southern-most area for some plants as well as the most northern area to grow for others.

Many plants in this area are on the endangered list, thus the creation of a Plant Rescue Team, a volunteer, goodwill service to this unique area. Members are trained to assist landowners, realtors, builders, and developers, etc. in on-site surveys to identify plants on the property. Many endangered plants bloom early in the spring and then die back, some blooms die quickly, just having leaves to identify them.

The Plant Rescue Team will check your property, over several seasons if possible, and move these plants if they are in the path of building, or identify and leave the plants there to enhance property values, benefit wildlife- birds and butterflies- and maintain the natural balance of our mountains.

Everyone would love to find a showy, flame azalea on their property.
