MACA Christian Honor Society Induction

Mountain Area Christian Academy recently inducted eight new members in the Christian Honor Society. The new inductees are: Rebecca DeCarlo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barry DeCarlo, Blairsville; Jonathan Hemby, son of Mrs. Brenda Hemby, Blairsville; Laura Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Kelly, Blairsville; Ali Kight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Kight, Blairsville; Christopher McNerney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Shawn McNerney, Mineral Bluff; Kelly Perry, daughter of Mrs. Jeanne Perry, Blairsville; Abby Powell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Powell, Blairsville, and Steven Vecchio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Vecchio, Morganton.

To be eligible for membership in the Christian Honor Society, a student must demonstrate above average qualities in each of the following areas: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Honesty, Cooperation, Responsibility, Humility, Submissiveness, and Consideration.

Membership in the Georgia Association of Christian Schools Christian Honor Society is open to all students in grades seven through twelve who personally meet the standards enumerated above and who have been enrolled in Mountain Area Christian Academy for at least one semester immediately prior to their nomination.

The student must have a B or better in every subject for which a letter grade is given and be nominated by the faculty.

The ceremony and pinning of the new members was followed by a reception for the students, faculty and parents. Other members of the Christian Honor Society include: Joey Danek, Peter Danek, Heather Dittman, Stewart Harbin, Terah Hooper, Kyle Huneycutt, Aaron Matthews, Morgan McCombs, Grace Patterson, Joseph Simonds, Rebekah Simonds, and Abigail Williams.
