Marcus Ralph Baggett
Mr. Marcus Ralph Baggett, 79, of Hester Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Baggett was born March 29, 1927 in Feldsmere, Fla., the son of the late William Baggett and the late Martha Bradshaw Baggett. He was employed with the Kennedy Space Center as an Engineer which he was so proud of. He was listed in the Smithsonian Institute as one of the Engineers who worked on the Saturn 5 Space Shuttle and was also a member of the Experimental Aircraft Assc. Marcus loved his family and church and also loved playing the piano. His Pastor, family and friends compared him to Jimmy Stewart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Core of WWII. Mr. Baggett was a member of the Blairsville Church of Christ.
Surviving Mr. Baggett is his loving wife of 41 years, Neva V. Brown Baggett of Blairsville; their children, Donna and Karl Amidon of West Mont, Ill., Gary and Cindy Baggett of Joliet, Ill., Jeffrey and Tina Baggett of El Paso, Ill., Gilda McIntosh of Spring Hill, Tenn., Frank Guynn of King George, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Robert
and Billie Baggett of Denver,
Colo.; sister and brother-inlaw,
Martha and Tom Mier
of Lake City,Fla.; grandchildren,
Benjamin, Nathan, Melissa, Angie,
Amy, Abby, Mollie,
Tammy, Paige and
Stacy; seven great-grandchildren;
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Blairsville Church of Christ with Minister Terry Stuart, Minister Aaron Stanley and Mark Cargill officiating. Pallbearers were Mark Cargill, Aaron Stanley, Jake Colwell, Nathan Amidon, Benjamin Amidon and Rusty Logan. Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Prayer Breakfast Group of the Blairsville Church of Christ and the Members of the Experimental Air Craft Assc. Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery with the North GA. Honor Guard conducting Military Honors.
