Memorial Gathering held by Hospice Agency

Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Staff, Volunteers and families held their 15th Annual Memorial Service in honor of all their home health and hospice patients who had died in the past year.
Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency held its fifteenth annual memorial service on Sunday November 26, 2006 on the grounds of their Andrew's branch office.

Several volunteers and staff participated in the service including Reverend George Simmons, Volunteer Chaplain; Angela Palmer, Social Worker/Volunteer Coordinator; Lynae Cheeks, RN Coordinator; Julie Yonce, RN Supervisor; Arnaldo Lugo, Hospice Chaplain and Towanna Roberts, RN Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Director.

Arnaldo Lugo reflected on the story of "The Three Trees." Each family member present was given an opportunity to share comments and thoughts about their loved ones who were memorialized. The gathering conclude with the lighting of a tree planted in memory of all home health and hospice patients served by Good Shepherd who had died in the past year. The tree remained aglow throughout the holiday season. It is the hope of the agency that, as this living memorial grows, so will our memory of those for whom it is planted.

The service was followed with fellowship and a bountiful and delicious reception provided by Townson Rose Funeral Home. Good Shepherd would like to thank the participants, the volunteers, Leslie McKinney, the staff of Townson Rose and Hillside Nursery for making this annual event possible.
