Frank Hein Jr.
Mr. Frank Hein Jr., 76, of Blairsville, Ga., died unexpectedly Saturday, January 6, 2007.
Mr. Hein was a native of Wisconsin. He then moved to Florida in the late 1930s. He was a humorous storyteller, boat-builder craftsman, soldier, deacon, and most of all, a loving father. Frank attended the University of Miami where he played football and volunteered for the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Hein had won many awards in his lifetime. Some of his accomplishments were as follows: West Palm Beach, Fla., police officer; later, a Deputy Sheriff in Vero Beach, Fla.; a real-estate salesman; a criminal scene investigator; and serving in the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Campaign. He was a member of the Army-Navy Union, and the Eagles of Vero Beach; and the Explorers Boys and Girls Club. He then retired in 1993 and moved to Blairsville.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Blairsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Teri Hein of Virginia, Brad and Nickie McBride; daughters and sons-inlaw,
Dawn and Jack Crandal,
Linn and Carl Fore, Mona
and Joe Smith of Indiana,
Jody and Bruce Garwood
of Florida; sister, Gina Campen of Florida;
nephew, Jeff Campen;
17 grandchildren and 20
great grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Hein in
death was a son, Randy
Hein.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home, with Rev. Ivan Rexroth officiating. Music was presented by Marynell Yahl and Mark Caouette. Pallbearers were Adam Trembley, Joe Smith, Bruce Garwood, Carl Fore, Matha Brownlee and Jeff Campen. Interment followed in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery, with military honors presented by North Georgia Honor Guard.
