ACB holds blood drive
Carolinas Blood Services Region, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of the largest American Red Cross blood regions in the country. It provides blood to hospitals in 82 counties in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. The region collects more than 360,000 units (each unit represents one blood donation) each year. The region's daily goal is to register 1,500 blood donors.
On December 29, Appalachian Community Bank helped the American Red Cross reach for that goal. Twenty-five people presented to donate, and 20 productive units were collected. Four of those were first-time donors. The Bank would like to thank all those who participated and helped to make the Blood Drive a huge success! Look for the American Red Cross bloodmobile to be at Appalachian Community Bank again in early summer!
