Velma Elizabeth Gilmer

Mrs.Velma Elizabeth Gilmer, 96, of Fern Valley Lane, Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Fredrick, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Gilmer was born March 18, 1910 in Fredrick, Okla., the daughter of the late J.D. Laney and the late Olie Lawrence Laney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Elvis Gilmer in 1969; and also by five brothers, three sisters and a half brother. Mrs. Gilmer was a member of South End Baptist Church in Fredrick, Okla.

Surviving Mrs. Gilmer are son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Gilmer of Fredrick, Md.; sister, Ruth Forsberg of San Diego,

Calif.; grandchildren, Lacy

Gilmer and Kevin Gilmer,

both of Fredrick; many

other relatives and friends
