Robbery suspects caught in Union

Joshua Ryan Wright, 26, 102 Jackson Heights Apt., Blairsville, and Dustin Robert Adjan, 20, 2164 Winchester Creek Rd., Young Harris, were arrested for armed robbery after law enforcement found them hiding in the attic of an apartment in Blairsville.

The arrests were made Sunday, January 7. The pair is believed to have been involved in an armed robbery earlier that evening at the Big D convenience store on Hwy. 76 in Young Harris.

A cashier at the store called 911 at 6:23 p.m. reporting an armed robbery. Deputies from Towns County Sheriff's Office were on the scene in minutes, but the suspects were gone. They were described as two white males, one stood watch outside the door while the other, dressed in black with a black mask, came inside, pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded she put money in a bag he had brought with him. They took off with approximately $500 in cash and $500 in checks.

After making contact with the Towns County Sheriff's department, the Blairsville Police Department learned that the suspects were believed to be at an apartment building in Blairsville in a maroon Taurus or white Oldsmobile.

Law enforcement gathered at the Jackson Heights apartments, where a woman named Patricia Wright informed officers that the suspects were not there and that she would not give consent for a search without a warrant.

Robert Kern of the Towns County Sheriff's Office obtained the warrant and the owner of the residence also arrived and informed law enforcement as to the layout of the residence.

According to the incident report Ms. Wright opened the door and reiterated that the suspects were not there, but eventually agreed to a search of the residence.

Upon searching, suspects Josh Wright and Dustin Adjan were found in the crawl space of the ceiling and taken into custody.

The suspects were transported to the Towns County Jail where they remain without bond.
