Area students named to Dean's List at YHC

Dr. John W. Wells, President of Young Harris College, is proud to announce the Towns and Union Countystudents who have been named to the Young Harris College Dean's List for Fall 2006. Students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better are eligible to be named to the Dean's List.

Kimberly Ann Albury: A graduate of Towns County High School, Kim is a freshman at Young Harris College. She is the daughter of Chuck and Judy Albury of Young Harris, Georgia. Kim is the granddaughter of Ruby McClure of Blairsville, Georgia, and Richard and Carolyn Albury of Young Harris, Georgia.

Kalan Shea Bergen: Kalan, a graduate of Union County High School, is a sophomore at Young Harris College. She is the daughter of Reed and Teina Lovvorn-Wislar of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tom and Cavel Bergen of McDonough, Georgia.

Anna Presley Dyer: Presley, a sophomore at Young Harris College, is a graduate of Towns County High School. She is the daughter of Ronnie and Kay Dyer of Hiawassee, Georgia, and the granddaughter of James and Blanche Dyer, also of Hiawassee.

Jessica Lee Hollingshead: Jessy, a graduate of Towns County High School, is a sophomore at Young Harris College and is working toward an Associate of Science degree. She is the daughter of Brian and Tammy Hollingshead of Hiawassee, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of John and Joan Hollingshead of Hiawassee, Georgia, and Ray and Faye Wine, also of Hiawassee.

Michael Robert Marshall: Mike is a sophomore at Young Harris College and a graduate of Towns County High School. He is the son of Gary and Heather Marshall of Blairsville, Georgia, and grandson of Bob and Jan Harvey of Blairsville, Georgia.

Eleanor Lippincott Knox McTyre: A freshman at Young Harris College, Ellie is a graduate of Union County High School. She is the daughter of Tobin McTyre of Blairsville, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Eleanor Plumbo of St. Simons Island, Georgia, and Richard McTyre of Blairsville, Georgia.

Marc Phillip Nicklien: Marc, a freshman at Young Harris College, is a graduate of Union County High School. He is the son of Walt and Becky Nicklien of Blairsville, Georgia. He is the grandson of Hank and Thelma Parnell of Blairsville, Georgia, and Marge Askew of Lake Placid,Florida.

Jared Keith Norton: Afreshman at Young Harris College, Jared is a graduate of Towns County High School. He is the son of Keith and Kathy Norton of Young Harris, Georgia. He is the grandson of Chuck and Louise Garner of Hayesville, North Carolina, and Donal and Kathleen Norton of Doraville, Georgia.

Fletcher Allan Page: Fletcher, a sophomore at Young Harris College and graduate of Towns County High School, is the son of Pete and Sandy Page of Young Harris, Georgia. He is the grandson of Ruth Page and the late Rev. Cecil Page of Young Harris, Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Randall Turner of Blairsville, Georgia.

Kate Elizabeth Peterson: Kate, a freshman at Young Harris College and graduate of Union County High School, is the daughter of Vern and Jean Peterson of Blairsville, Georgia. She is an inaugural member of the Young Harris College Cross Country Team.

Sonja Melanie Roush: A sophomore at Young Harris College and a graduate of Union County High School, Sonja is the daughter of Jorge and Rose Roush of Blairsville, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Ed and Arlene Priest of Homosassa, Florida, Mary Kay Lucas of Homosassa, Florida, and Johnny Roush of Homosassa, Florida. Sonja is a member and officer of the International Club at Young Harris College. She has earned Dean's List status each of her three semesters at Young Harris.

Brittany Renee Seay: Brittany is a freshman at Young Harris College and a graduate of Union County High School. She is the daughter of Ricky and Michelle Seay of Blairsville, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Tommy and Glenda Seay of Blairsville, Georgia, and Frances King, also of Blairsville.

Maria Elizabeth Thomas: Maria, a freshman at Young Harris College and graduate of Union County High School, is the daughter of Jim and Betsy Thomas of Young Harris, Georgia. She is pursuing an Associate of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Art.
