Prudential Georgia raises money for The Sunshine Kids Foundation

Prudential Georgia Realty's Lake Chatuge/Hiawassee office held a gala event on Friday, December 15, 2006 at The Ridges Resort & Club to raise money for The Sunshine Kids Foundation. Prudential's Lake Chatuge office is one of 24 offices located throughout Atlanta and the North Georgia area. Each of the 24 offices are encouraged to raise money for their network wide charity, The Sunshine Kids Foundation. The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Established in 1982, they are committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support to young cancer patients. The Sunshine Kids provides a variety of programs and events, free of charge, to children receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America. They add quality of life to these young cancer patients by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what kids are supposed to do. . . have fun and celebrate life.

David & Lisa Craig, Realtors with Prudential Georgia Realty were the chairs for the event. Being their first time chairing an event such as this, they enlisted the help of many of the other agents in the office. We decided on the venue being The Ridges Resort & Club. We spoke to them and they graciously donated the room. We also decided that there would be dinner, dancing, a silent auction and raffles. Several agents began soliciting auction items and sponsorships from local businesses back in September. Most every business that was visited gave an auction item. Auction items included: paintings, furniture, gift certificates, Busch Gardens tickets, Zoo Atlanta tickets, gift baskets, lodging, home decorating items, clothing, jewelry, wine, toys and much more. There were two top level sponsors: The Ridges Resort & Club and Mr. and Mrs. Drew & Judy Rosasco, Hiawassee, GA. Our next level sponsor was Mr. J.D. Tittle, Attorney, Hiawassee, GA. Tickets were sold for $100 a plate.

It began at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner was served at 7:30 p.m. The event was an enormous success raising $14,322.05.
