Union County 4-H youth were big winners at the annual National Racking Horse Association meetings in Chatanooga, TN on November 4. Shelby Campell with her horse, The Bum Digitty won the High Points Pony Trophy. Beth Fox and Casper's Delighful Girl were awarded the High Points Juvenile Show Pleasure Trophy.
To receive a High Points Award a rider and horse must consistantly win in a class over the entire show season from April thru August. These awards represent many miles of driving to shows in Georgia and Tennessee and many hours of practice.
Emily Fox was another big winner. She held the winning ticket in a raffle to benefit St. Jude Childrens Hospital. The prize was Nationalbred Filly donated by Rodger Adams and Philip Thomas. The raffle raised over $1600.00 for the St. Jude. Emily's filly was delivered the very next day.
Morgan Gallagher another 4-H Horse Club member also attended the meeting with her family. While Morgan did not show in the NRHA this year she was the Gaited High Points winner at the 2-Bit 4H Horse Show in September. Morgan is looking forward in the 2007 show season.
