Fiddler Donna Hébert to Perform at Folk School
Donna Hébert is an extraordinary fiddler, able to find the rhythmic heartbeat of any piece. She has shared concert and festival stages with musicians such as David Bromberg, Sweet Honey in the Rock and James Cotton, and has fiddled, sung, and written for her own bands, which have included seminal contra dance band Yankee Ingenuity, award-winning women's group Rude Girls, and the Franco-American cultural group Chanterelle, now in it's 12th year. Adept at helping others to find their musical groove, Donna teaches fiddling to individuals and groups at schools, colleges, conferences and festivals. She joined the faculty at Mark O'Connor's 2006 Strings Conference and directed The Great Groove Band of school-age musicians at the Old Songs Festival in Altamont NY.She is currently at work on a CD featuring the tunes of her late Franco-American fiddling mentor Louis Beaudoin.
