L.B. Collins

Mr. L.B. Collins, 85, of L.B.Collins Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Collins was born March 26, 1921 in Union County, Ga., the son of the late E.S. Collins and the late Oria Souther Collins. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WWII. He had served in the CCC Camp. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Ezra and J.T. Collins; and a sister, Cora Dover. Mr. Collins was a member of Track Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Collins is his loving wife of 64 years, Jessie Plott Collins of Blairsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Charles Murphy of Blairsville, Opal and Ray Young of Blairsville, Nancy Coffey of Rincon, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Nina Collins of Blue Ridge, Ga., Frank and Nancy Collins of Blairsville; sister, Clara Duckworth of Blairsville; grandchildren, William Young, Rita Brown, Dustin Young, Shane Murphy, Steven Murphy, Jason Collins, Matthew Collins, Cory Collins, Sabrina Smith, Shannon Foster, Anthony Baldridge and Lindsey

Baldridge; 15 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held

Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. from

the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wade

Plott and Rev. Jerry Young officiating.

Special music was presented by the Track Rock

Quartet, Herman Garrett and Trisha Cook. Pallbearers were William Young, Dustin Young, Shane Murphy, Steven Murphy, Jason Collins and Cory Collins. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Barry and David Copp. Interment followed in the Track Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
