Clara Jane Burnett

Mrs. Clara Jane Burnett, age 82, of Suches, Ga., died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at her residence.

Mrs. Burnett was born Saturday, July 5, 1924 in Union County, Ga., to the late Jim Hood and Ollie Sexton Hood. A lifelong resident of Union County, she was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was preceded in death by daughter, Opal Burnett; four sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Dewey Burnett of Suches; son and daughter-inlaw, Robert and Joanne Burnett, also of Suches; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Burnett of Suches, Gladys and Bruce Jones of Dahlonega, Ga.; brother, George Hood of Cleveland, Ga.; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Zion

Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Lyle officiating. Music was provided by Kim Gooch. Interment was in Zion Baptist Church

Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Williams,

Steve Lewis, Danny Burnett, Clay Williams,

Zach Williams, Eddie Hood and Steve Hood.
