January NARFE meeting

The Brasstown Bald chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees association will hold their first meeting of 2007 at 12:00 noon on Tuesday January 9th at Cobbs Mill Restaurant in Blairsville. All current or retired federal employees, their spouses or survivors, are welcome at NARFE meetings.

NARFE is recognized as the association devoted exclusively to serving and protecting the earned rights and benefits of all federal retirees, employees and survivors. Their mission is to support legislation beneficial to current and potential federal annuitants and to oppose legislation contrary to their interests. NARFE cooperates with many

other organizations and associations in the furtherance of these general objectives. The new 110th Congressional Session convening on January 4thwill present new challenges to retirees to be ever vigilant of attempts to reduce the Governments contribution to their health and retirement plans.

If you are a current or retired federal worker, become a part of the NARFE family. It takes a strong presence in Washington to promote or oppose legislation effecting employees and retirees. For more information, come to the meeting or contact George at 706-745 -7286 or Larry at 706- 745-4092 or by email larjon@ brmemc.net
