Cadet addresses Kiwanis Club

Jordan is pictured with his parents, Daryl and Rachel Allison of Blairsville.
Cadet Jordan Allison of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY recently visited with the Kiwanis Club of Blairsville to describe his life as a “plebe” at West Point. Jordan has completed several phases of his training, including physical fitness training, military indoctrination, and field training in preparation for combat situations. He is now deeply embroiled in a rigorous academic program that rivals the toughest in the county.

Jordan is one of only three cadets from Northeast Georgia at West Point, and outlined the difficult selection process for the nation’s military academies. The process started with being sponsored by Representative Charlie Norwood, and then being subjected to rigorous background and academic review processes. After the process was over, Jordan had the honor of being selected by both the Army and Air Force Academies. After consideration, he chose the Army’s United States Military Academy at West Point.

The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville is proud of the accomplishments of Jordan and the outstanding youth of our community. We are also glad to have Daryl as a fellow member of Kiwanis.

The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville is dedicated to serving and supporting young people in the immediate area around Blairsville through numerous projects. The Kiwanis Club meets at the Cobbs Mill Restaurant in Blairsville at 12:00 noon on each Monday. Come join in the fun with us! For more information, contact President Buddy Moore at (706) 745-3839.
