Winona Dyer Souther
Mrs. Winona Dyer Souther, 75, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, Ga., died Friday, December 15, 2006 at her home.
Mrs. Souther was born Wednesday, May 6, 1931 in Union County, Ga., to the late Jewell Dyer and the late Irene Deaton Dyer. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by her husband, F.C. Souther; sister, Hazel Self; and brothers Herman and Cecil Dyer.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and David Farrell; brothers, R.M. Dyer, Tommy Dyer, Charles Dyer and Lonnie Dyer, all of Blairsville; sisters, Lillian Hughes of Blairsville, and Geneva Self of Gainesville, Ga.; granddaughter and husband, Pam and Rick Gray; grandson, Chad Farrell; and great granddaughters, Brooke and Lydia Gray. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 18, 2006 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Young and Rev. Wade
Plott officiating. Music
was provided by Mary
Ann Wright, the New
Liberty Choir and Marcia Barrett. Interment followed in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Souther, Chad Farrell, Rick Gray, Terry Barrett, Ronnie Dyer and Dennis Dyer.
