Kenneth Joe Gladson
Mr.Gladson was born Nov. 17, 1944 in Cherokee County, N.C., the son of the late Emory Gladson and the late Pearl Tolar Gladson. He was a lifelong resident of Union and Cherokee counties. He had been part owner of the Chevy Dealership in Blairsville, had owned and operated the Blairsville Chevron Station, was owner of G & C Used Cars and Auto Rental, and at the time of his death was employed with CARmen Auto Sales of Blairsville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Ramsey; and brother-in-law, Rick Singleton. Mr. Gladson was a member of Pine Top Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Gladson is his loving wife of 37 years, Betty Marshall Gladson of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Brad Hamer of Young Harris, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Gladson of Murphy; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue Singleton of Loganville, Ga., Christine and Gaines Jones of Lithonia; grandchildren, Easton and Kaelyn Hamer; many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Tanner, Rev. Henry Loggins and Benny Erwin officiating. Special music was presented by Calvin Hood, Dayton Dyer and Henry Loggins. Pallbearers were John Mason, Steven Dyer, Richard Copeland, Jack Taylor, Michael Diaz and Charles Greenway. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Fortenberry, Dennis Hamby, Franklin Hunter, Keith Shelnut, Jeff Stites, Kenneth Jones and Johnny Gladson. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery in Murphy, N.C. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of the arrangements.
