Buddy Gary Garrett

Mr. Buddy Gary Garrett, 59 of Hiawassee, Ga., passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006.

Mr. Garrett was born Monday, December 30, 1946 in Towns County, Ga., to Clea Anderson Garrett, of Hiawassee and the late Kieffer Garrett. He was of the Baptist faith, a Mason and a U.S. Veteran during the Veitnam War. He was a cattle farmer, electrician and plumber.

Surviving Mr. Garrett, including his mother are his sisters, Janice Cloer of Hayesville, N.C., and Jackie Garrett of Hiawassee; nephew, Stanley Cloer; special companion, Linda Chastain of Hiawassee; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Chastain, Brandon and Brittney Chastain; special cousin, Kathleen Burrell; several aunts, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Moss and Rev. Charles Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Dale Penland, David Penland, Jeff Penland, Dennis Penland, Dwight Penland and Gene Penland. Honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Chastain, Brandon Chastain and Cecil Maney.

The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
