Peacock Playhouse to host concert series fundraiser

Forget the winter doldrums; forget the annual after- Christmas/New Year’s let down. The Peacock Playhouse is going to host a series of three concerts that will breathe new life into your shopped-out, partied-out, familied-out spirit!

January 13, is the date for the first concert featuring local singer/songwriter Mike Whitney. “A Nite with Mike,” will be just what you need to self-indulge in a bluesy, folksy, warm and cozy musical evening. (Dress up night is optional.)

Showtime is at 7 p.m.

February 24, will be “Western Night” at the Peacock.

Multi-award winning western duo Jim and Jeannie Martin from the great southwest of Riudoso, NM, will be on-hand to sing and entertain you with some original and familiar weatern music. Wear your favorite jeans and western duds and saddle up for a great evening of cowboy music at its very best.

March 17, will be “An Evening of Gospel” with the vibrant, energized and inspirational southern group, “Blue

Ridge’ out of Franklin, North Carolina. This group of extrememly talented and highpowered harmonizers will make you feel every word they sing and leave you uplifted. If you love true, southern gospel music performed with style you won’t want to miss this concert.

All show times are 7 p.m.

At intemission during each concert, delightful and delectable hors d’ oeuvres will be provided by Dennis Barber of The Copper Door restaurant, in Hayesville.

Tickets for all three concerts may be purchased as a package for $50 per person of $20 per person for individual concert performances. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to provide much needed maintenance for the Peacock Playhouse building. (i.e. fix a leaky roof)
