Christmas concert at Old Courthouse

The annual Christmas Concert presented by the Union County Historical Society will take place at The Old Courthouse on the Square on Saturday, December 16. The starting time this year will be 6:30 p.m. instead of the usual time of 7:00 p.m. There will be an intermission about 7:30 with Christmas refreshments, including hot cider, then back to the music.

Each individual or group who has performed during the past summer concert season is invited to participate. The following acts have committed to perform with others expected: Current Georgia Jr. Fiddle Champion, Alex Tomlinson; Fouryear old fiddling phenomenon, Jonathon Eernisse; Don byers; Ed Shipman; Wayde Powell III; Buck and Nelson; Jerry and Evelyn Hyatt; Roots and Branches; ReGrass; Ken and Friends; Forgiven; The Barker Brothers; The Collins Brothers and the Blairsville Bluegrass Band; and the world famous Skillet Lickers.

There is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to spend an evening in the historic old Courthouse on the Square enjoying good music and sharing the cheer of

the season. The courtroom is especially decorated for the concert by Beverly Bradley and all of the volunteers of Historical Society.

The Christmas Concert, as well as the summer concert series, is presented by the Union County Historical Society as a public service and to keep alive the traditon of music in The Old Courthouse. There is no required admission charge to the concert. The musicians donate their time and talents. Voluntary donations to the restoration and operation fund are always welcomed and appreciated.
