Holiday Handbell Concert by The Brasstown Ringers

The Brasstown Ringers will present their 11th annual concert of holiday handbell music at the John C. Campbell

Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. at 7:30 pm on Friday, December 8.

Founded in 1992 by Pat and Henry Meinecke, the Brasstown Ringers have grown from a small group of seven ringers, to a thirteen member ensemble playing six octaves of Schulmerich hand bells interwoven with five octaves of Whitechapel bells, five and a half octaves of choir chimes and various percussion instruments. Each player handles up to four bells, while some individuals may play as many as eight or more during the course of a piece. The Brasstown Ringers program will include original compositions and arrangements of familiar Christmas songs, as well as small ensemble music. The group is directed by Pat Meinecke of Brasstown, NC.

The Folk School?s Friday Night Concerts will resume after the holidays on January 12, 2007. The schedule is available on the world wide web at http://wwwfolkschool.org.
