County Farm to perform at Folk School

County Farm will appear in a free concert of bluegrass and old time string band music at 7:30 pm, Friday, Deccember 1 at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. The public is welcome to enjoy a public exhibition of Folk School student crafts from 6:40 - 7 p.m in the Keith House Community Room, where the concert will be held.

County Farm is a four piece string band from Asheville whose sound ranges from blues to traditional bluegrass, newgrass, old time music and even a bit of polka. They have performed at festivals, clubs, coffee houses and on radio throughout the southeast and have shared stages with some of the top bands in bluegrass including Del McCoury, Sam Bush, Jimmy Martin,

Larry Keel and IIIrd Tyme Out. In 2004 they were voted "Best Band in WNC" by the Asheville Citizen-Times readers' poll. The group's latest CD entitled "Work Release" was cited by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine as "thoroughly entertaining from start to finish."

Band members include Jay Mullenax on guitar, mandolin and vocals; Paul Leech on bass and vocals; Tom Dudley, guitar and vocals; and Neal Crowley, fiddle, banjo and vocals.

The final Friday concert for 2006 will feature The Brasstown Ringers(Dec. 8).
