RAINER'S RAMBLINGS
Now I have heard that some people are still upset that all the political signs are not gone. They feel like the politicians should get them all up. I agree, but I ought to add my thoughts. See, not all politicians put up all the signs. So, they have to depend on those people who put them up to take them down. Then, I have heard on some radio stations that the politicians whose signs are staying up ought to get fined. To me, that is a little far out. But, I agree that the signs ought to be taken up. If they are on your property, you take them up. If they are still there in a week or two, then anyone who is irritated by them ought to take them up. I doubt that anyone would complain if you took one of those little signs and threw it away. After all, it would make the neighborhood look a little nice. But then some people might say that this is trespassing or theft. Well, if you worry about such things, go up to the property owners and ask them if it would be OK for you to have that sign, if for no other reason than a souvenir. I doubt they would be upset if you ask nice. If they are, just thank them for their time and go on. Apparently that person is not as nice as you. Also, most people think the government ought to do things for us. And, that might be so. Maybe the local police or local government can pass take care of the problem for you. The police can take these signs down. Or maybe the county governments can or already have an ordinance that requires all political signs to be removed two weeks after the election. I know there are some counties where they have these ordinances. But either way, relax and don't get too excited if you see an isolated sign here and there. Rest assured, they will get gone. After all we have teenagers that love to take signs, even the wrong ones at times. |
