Robert Cecil Crisp

Mr. Robert Cecil Crisp, 84, of Whittler's Mountain Rd., Murphy, N.C., formerly of Blairsville, died Jan. 11, 1922 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Crisp was born Jan. 11, 1922 in Proctor, N.C., the son of the late Robert Lee Crisp and the late Minnie Odessa Swanson Crisp. He was a Master Electrician by trade and was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jacquelyn Stout Crisp in 2004; also by two brothers, J.C. and Troy Crisp; and two sisters, Margie Stinson and Nina Sawyer. Mr. Crisp was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Crisp is his daughter and son in law, Cynthia and Roy Hoover of Murphy; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carol Crisp and John and Joy Crisp, all of Sebastain, Fla.; grandchildren, Jo Ann Smith, Crystal Holloway, John Crisp Jr., Wesley Rotgers, Robert Orin Crisp, Renee Martin, Amber Rogers and Ashton Crisp; twelve great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the funeral

home chapel with the

Rev. Loys Waters officiating.

were some of Mr. Crisp's favorite hymns. Pallbearers were Roy Hoover, Wesley Rotgers, Jerry Holloway, Said Jemmett, Mike Martin, Robert Orin Crisp and Tyler Holloway. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by the Allegheny Masonic Lodge #114 F&AM.
