RAINER'S RAMBLINGS
I mean, after all, who do you believe. I tried checking out some of the commercials and got no where. Plus, I found that it was time consuming and in order to check them all out I could not go to work. I get calls at dinner about political issues and sometimes when I pick up the phone there is a long silence. And I say HELLO a few times and then a recorder comes on and tells me to vote for a certain someone. Whatever happened to the candidate going door to door and meeting his constituents? I might actually like that. And, since I am a pretty slow person to get irritated it seems to me that many people out there in the community are probably as irritated with all that negativity and impersonal-ness that is going on this election season. And because many people are irritated about these things maybe voter turn out will not be so good. BUT, just because of that I would like to urge everyone to vote for the guy that does not slander another candidate and for the person that does less to irritate you. That way you are doing your civic duty and at the same time voting for the candidate that tries to do the right thing. Remember, voting is a privilege and even though we take it for granted, there are many things we ought to remember. If we do not vote we do not have the right to complain about the candidate that gets elected. So, be like me. Vote. Express your opinion and make your vote count. I will and I hope you vote as well. Maybe we can do our part to make our government a little more responsive. |
