Are you safe at your dinner plate?

We've all heard the phrase, "What you don't know, won't hurt you." Well, this concept just not true. It may be true that what you don't know may not stress you out while it is killing you, but it is still doing damage! The Bible actually says that people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. Take for example some popular ingredients in ice cream. Without mentioning their polysyllabic and highly scientific names, I will tell you that a chemical in ice cream that replaces eggs as an emulsifier is identical to a chemical used in paint thinner and antifreeze. A chemical used for pineapple flavoring is the same chemical used for leather and textiles. It is known to cause chronic lung, liver and heart damage. A type of banana flavoring is also an oil paint solvent. What about cherry ice cream? It may contain an inflammable liquid

used in aniline dyes, plastics and rubber. Your love of strawberry ice cream may actually be enhanced by a nitrate solvent. For those of you who relish that nutty flavor in ice cream, you may be eating a chemical found in rubber cement. Your vanilla flavor substitute may actually be used to kill lice.

You are invited to a free elegant, after church dinner that will show you that a more natural, healthful way of eating can actually taste good! The dinner will be held at the United Community Bank Bracket Room this Sunday. Serving is from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Call 706-835-2789 or email getwell@torministries.org and let us know how many are in your party. This elegant occasion is sponsored by Times of Refreshing Health Ministry.
