There he goes again!
To the Editor:

Letter writer Shelem Flemmons is so clueless that his cluelessness becomes an astounding "fact". In his latest missive in which he "apologizes" to certain religious persons because he so "inadvertently" included "facts" which offended them he does nothing but offend again. Should he read any reliable fact-based history about alcohol, its destructive power, or the history of prohibition, he would find no reference to the religious affiliation of the people involved. Unfortunately he seems to be getting his "facts" from histories exclusively written by authors with the prejudices he himself exhibits.

White Lightning is liberally produced in Union County, do we question these persons religious affiliation? Beer cans are thrown all over our roads, does anyone question the religious affiliation of the litterer? Meth and DUI arrests happen all the time in this area, do we question the offenders religious affiliation? Many persons of many religious backgrounds are alcohol free, just as many religious backgrounds are represented by persons who do imbibe. Mr. Flemmons one aim in life appears to be to lay all alcohol sins at the feet of one religious group. He should stop before he gets even further behind in his thinking.
