Public Notice of Junk Ordinance In order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the general public and the citizens of the City of Blairsville, the City Council adopted an Ordinance on August 2, 2005 which prohibits abandoned, wrecked, or junked vehicles within the city limits. Specifically the ordinance states that: "Except as otherwise expressly permitted, it shall be prohibited in all parts of the city to park of continuously store abandoned, wrecked, junked or inoperable vehicles, power-driven construction equipment, used lumber or metal or any other miscellaneous scrap material in a quantity that is visible from a public street or adjacent or surrounding property." The Blairsville Police Department will begin enforcing this ordinance. There may be a civil fine, not to exceed $1,000, for each violation of this ordinance.
