Cruisin'
1977 Lincoln Town Coupe-few were made
By GREG ZYLA

Q: I have a 1977 Lincoln Town Coupe. It is the two-door hardtop model with a glass roof. This car is in excellent (No. 3) condition. I cannot find how many were built and I would like to know. I have seen only one other like it. I'd also like to know how much it's worth. Any help is greatly appreciated. - Stanley H., via e-mail

A: Stanley, the Town Car trim featured an extra plush interior along with, usually but not always, a landau vinyl roof over the rear passenger compartment. The Town Car badge has always been applied to sedans, but from 1975 to 1980, there was a similar option for coupes, called the Town Coupe.

A total of 4,836 Town Coupes were produced that year, and I personally feel they

are worth more, and will continue to be, than the four-door models. As for the glass top, it adds 10 percent to the car's value. I'm not really sure how many came with it, but I would say it is rare, perhaps 500 to 750 of total production. Also, if the 460 V-8 powers your Town Car, add another 15 percent to the price I quote below.

I'd say you are sitting on a minimum of $7,500 or better. Good luck, and drive safely.
