Mountain adventure weekend

Autumn is all about the beauty of the mountains and exploring the rich culture and heritage of this magnificent region.

There is no better place to explore the treats of fall than Mountain Adventure Weekend at Amicalola Falls State Park, October 28 and 29.

Enjoy the cool morning and bright fall colors with a hike, and afterwards catch a hayride in the afternoon sun.

End the day warming up by an evening campfire where you will enjoy myths and legends from Appalachia's past.

And don't forget to test your skill on the 50 foot climbing wall * a feature rarely available to the public!

The weekend will be infused with the spirit of old Appalachia* whether it's cloths-pin dolls, mountain music, folk tales, or traditional games.

Join us in the fun of Mountain Adventure Weekend at Amicalola Falls State Park.

Programs are free to the general public; however, age minimum and pre-registration are required for the climbing wall. Parking permits ($3 each) are required. For more information, you may call the Programming Department at 706-265-4703.
