Weapons of Mass Destruction

I walked into a hospital in North Georgia and saw an intriguing flyer on the bulletin board. Its headline read, "Weapons of Mass Destruction!" That was not the intriguing part as we have been hearing and seeing that phrase over and over again in the media.

The graphic accompanying the headline was a plate, a knife, a fork and a spoon. The flyer was screaming out the message, "America, our diet is killing us!" I recently watched a DVD by Dr. Michael Klaper, M.D. entitled, "A diet for all reasons," in which he shows how the standard American diet which is high in animal fat and protein consumption is responsible for the majority of our heart attacks, strokes, cancer, diabetes, and amputations, just to name a few.

If he is correct, our eating utensils have become weapons of mass destruction!. Heart attacks, strokes, cancer, and diabetes complication represent to the top killers in this country. According the American Heart Association's 2003 statistics, cardiovascular diseases and cancer claimed the lives of about 1.5 million people that year.

If Doctor Klaper is 75% wrong and we could only eliminate 25% of cardiovascular and cancer deaths by changing our diets, would it be worth changing our diets to save 375,000 lives annually. The scary reality is that as medical science is now catching up with the diet proposed by the Bible, it is being shown that Doctor Klaper is more like at least 75% correct.

We could probably save closer to a million lives annually if someone would show us a different and better way of eating. You are invited to a free dinner on October 29, 2006.
