Hall County fair tax organization sponsors debate There are a great many issues important to Americans as we prepare for the upcoming elections. Some would argue that taxation is intimately related to all of the other issues. Where do your elected representatives stand on the issues surrounding taxation? The current American tax system is a disaster: Success and saving are penalized by our tax code. Our tax code encourages vital American industry to relocate to other countries. Black market racketeers and money launderers pay no taxes under our current code, while law abiding citizens pay their share. The federal tax code has created an overbearing enforcement agency that curtails the constitutional rights of American citizens. The federal tax code is altered during every legislative session to suit the desires of Washington lobbyists and their clients, creating an enormously complicated tax code with loopholes and penalties designed specifically for thousands of special interest groups. Americans spend over $200 billion a year on tax compliance. That's $200 billion removed from our national economy and wasted on compliance with overly complicated tax regulations. It is time for a change. The Hall County Fair Tax Organization, in conjunction with the Gainesville College and State University's Politically Incorrect Club, Young Republicans and Young Democrats, will sponsor a debate between our candidates for local, state and federal offices. The candidates will be invited to share their views on taxation and to engage in debate over a reform to our current severely flawed tax system. The debate will be held in the Theater of The Georgia Mountain Center on October 30, 2006 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Join us to hear the candidates speak on the issue of taxation and address the flaws in the current system. We presently have commitments from the following candidates: - Arturo Corso, GA State Senate Candidate - Carl Rogers, GA State House Candidate - Doug Collins, GA State House Candidate - John Bradbury, US Congressional Candidate - Lee Hawkins, GA State Senate Candidate - Lydia Sartain, GA State House Candidate - Nathan Deal, US Congressman Please join us in encouraging our representatives to bring us a system of taxation that is fair, simple and good for America.
