AA-NA Meeting

Mountain Presbyterian

Sunday at 9:45 a.m., Christian Education; 11 a.m. Worship Service; followed by a time for coffee and conversation.

Monday and Wednesday: AA/Al- Anon meetings at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. Tuesday mornings The Quilt Guild meets at 9:30 a.m. for a work day. Fall is just around the corner and the much awaited Coosa Craft/Bake Sale, Silent Auction, and BBQ lunch is planned for Saturday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The entire congregation gets involved in this annual building fundraiser. The crafts sold are very unique and beautifully made-never enough for the high demand. The furniture available at the silent auction is top quality made by master craftsmen. The BBQ lunch, available starting at 10 a.m., costs $7.00 per plate for chopped pork, slaw, beans, roll, homemade dessert and beverage (eat-in or carry out.) Tickets available in advance by calling the church office at (706) 745-8893.

Come and enjoy the shopping and eating at Coosa united Methodist Church on 2850 Mulky Gap Road, off old Blue Ridge Highway.

Fourth Annual Country Fare

Saturday, October 28, 2006. It's not too soon to plan a fun day at St Clare's Episcopal Church in Blairsville.

Among the many crafts, books, and baked goods you will also be able to order Christmas Greenery and purchase other Holiday items. At Noon on the great day, the Appalachian St Andrew's Society Piper Band will perform while you are enjoying your lunch. Mark your Calendar! October 28, 2006.

Adult education- spiritual journey Our Faith Journey is a series

of adult education courses designed to encourage spiritual growth and development in our personal journey as well as in our journey as a congregation.

The Adult education class meets each Sunday in the Parish Hall from 9 to 10 AM. The class is open to all.

Lunch on the Hill

You are invited to "Lunch on the Hill," every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.The meal is home cooked and always delicious. Menu changes weekly; some of our choices are: Zion's Slow Smoked BBQ, Homemade Soups and Chili, Prime Meatloaf with Real Mashed Potatoes, Spaghetti with Special Sauce, etc. A favorite hit, Tom's Famous Chicken 'n Dumplings, is served the last Wednesday of each month. Salad selection, homemade dessert and drink rounds out the meal. All proceeds go towards missions of the church. Donation $4. Zion UMC is the "little country church with a kudzu kind of love that just grows and grows"!

Ancient Stones and Holy Wells

The Rev. Susan Johnson will give some highlights of her pilgrimage to Scotland and Ireland.

Her discussion will focus on the role of some of the ancient relics, encountered by her, in her study of Celtic Spirituality. This talk will be continued on Sunday the 22nd of October

Clare's Fare

Time has come to mark your calendar so you wont forget Clare's Fare at St. Clare's Episcopal Church.

Books galore, jams, jellies, cakes and cookies, wreaths, and all kinds of crafts for your Christmas giving. There will be a White Elephant Booth (No Clothing).

Lunch will be extra special, not only hot dogs and hamburgers but bratwurst and saurkraut as well. Soft drinks and coffee will be on hand.

The Appalachian St, Andrew's Pipe band will entertain us at Noon.

Free Healthy Dinner

Times of Refreshing Biblical Health Ministry is offering a free, elegant sit down dinner for you, your family and friends at the United Community Bank Bracket Community Building on Sunday, October 29, 2006. It is an after church event and the serving will start at 1:00 p.m. and continue until approximately 3:00 p.m. The cost of the meal and building rental will hopefully be covered by the proceeds from a free will donation box. Come and join us for this delicious healthy experience. If you can, call 706-835-2789 and let us know you plan to come and how many are in your party so we can prepare enough delicious, healthy food!
