Vogel's fall hoedown

First, join us on Saturday, October 21, 2006 for a cakewalk (sponsored by the Vogel Volunteers and park staff) starting at 2:00 p.m. in the lake parking area and we will have chili and drinks for sale starting at 5:00 p.m. The money raised will go toward park programming. Next, join us at 6:30 p.m. for a HOEDOWN! Have you always wanted to learn how to square, line and round dance, but were too embarrassed? Don't be, come enjoy yourselves and other folks in the parking lot by lake Trahlyta. Dennis Michaelson, a professional caller will be having fun teaching you the basic steps. (Also, there will be a bonfire to keep warm in between dances). There will be hayrides for everyone riding throughout the park to see the fall foliage during

the Hoedown. Finally, at 8:00 p.m. we will join around a campfire to roast marshmallows (bring your own marshmallows and utensils). Sue Canady, a professional storyteller from Blue Ridge, will entertain us with some Halloween Tales around the campfire. Don't miss this annual event! There is no fee for this event. A $3.00 park pass fee is required for each vehicle entering the park. For further information, please contact David Foot, park Manager or Randy Gambrell, Assistant Park Manager at (706) 745- 2628 or visit Vogel on the web at gastateparks.org. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Vogel State Park, its Staff and Volunteers are not responsible for any accidents which may be incurred to partcipants.
