Ask Robin

Robin Radcliffe
I saw a bumper sticker once that said "Baseball is Life, Everything Else is Details." The law of consciousness is that we

will live in the world ruled by whatever we make important. Each of us chooses what we will value as important and everything else is just details.

Jesus explained, "A man cannot serve two masters. He will love the one and hate the other, or he will honor one and despise the other."

We are Spiritual beings. The only true fulfillment for us will be through our connection to the spiritual realm.

Imagine a deep-sea diver on the bottom of the ocean exploring the marvels of the deep while his life support tube delivers a steady flow of vital oxygen to him. If his tube becomes clogged or cut off, the diver, in spite of the miracles around him will be unable to function.

When we commit to Spiritual practices each day then our focus is more on our life support tube than the details around

us. Our true nature is not physical, but spiritual and I believe that if we make that the most important interest from day to day, than we are not only acknowledging the spirit within us but we are nourished by it.

I can't help but think keeping our sights on heaven as much as we can will do more for us in the contribution to the importance to our lives than anything else we do with our time here.

"You can't do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about it's width and depth." Evan Esar
