"Mountain Craft Store" opens in downtown Blairsville Handcrafted face jugs, ceramic pitchers, straw brooms, wooden toys, animal whittlings, scented candles, fruit jams, mountain honey...these are some of the Appalachian crafts featured at the "Mountain Craft Store" located in the 1906 Grapelle Butt Mock House at the Mountain Life Museum in downtown Blairsville. The museum store is operated by the Union County Historical Society and also features history books, t-shirts, framed prints, and other merchandise produced by and for the Historical Society. Proceeds from sales benefit the non-profit organization and help fund on-going preservation efforts, including the development of the Mountain Life Museum. These handcrafted and history inspired items make thoughtful gifts, distincitve collectibles, personal mementoes, and special treats. Please put the Mountain Craft Store on your shopping list and remember that your purchases benefit the preservation of what makes this area so remarkable.
