Halloween costume contest for pets

Lake Chatuge Animal Hospital in Young Harris, Ga. wants to invite everyone to their first annual Halloween Costume Contest for Canine and Felines on October 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. All proceeds go to the John Todd, Jr. Good Samaritan Memorial Fund, a memorial fund to help animal owners undergoing financial hardship with the cost of providing medical treatment for their pets. This fund was established by John Todd, Sr. in memory of his son, who recently passed away after many years of medical treatment for a brain tumor. "John was a great guy, loved his animals, and would have been happy knowing that this fund would be helping those that need it so that their pets can get the care that they need," states his father.

The Halloween Costume Contest is the official kick-off event for this fund. The event

will award those with the funniest, scariest, best owner/pet ensemble, most original, and other categories. We want everyone to be a winner. The Humane Society Mountain Shelter will also be paricipating with Adopt-a-Pets. Ed Figueroa is bringing Skylar his red-tail hawk and other unique creatures, including creepy crawlers. There will be a maze, jump-a-thon, apple bobbing, and other fun activities for the kids as well as refreshments. Bring the whole family, especially your four-legged furry members! The entry fee for the costume contest is only $5 per pet, all for a great cause. Come have some Holloween fun and support health care for needy pets at Lake Chatuge Animal Hospital located on Hwy 17 that goes to Hayesville near the Hwy 76 junction. Call them at (706) 896-1244 for more details.
