Union County Travelers Baseball

The end of August was busy for the Travelers. The Travelers are 13 and 14 years olds from Towns and Union Counties. They are coached by Jeff McCarter, Kevin Hughes and Randy McConnell.

First they traveled to Dandridge, TN on August 19 and 20 to play in the Field of Dream Tournament. The Travelers placed third in the tournament playing against boys in the 15 and under bracket. There sponsors for this tournament was Kevin Greene Construction, Nathan Dixon of Exit Realty, and Hughes Grocery.

The next weekend they played a double header at Meeks Park against the Longhorns of Fannin and Gilmer County. The Panthers won the first game 7 to 6 in extra innings. Then took the

second game 13-6. The sponsors for this game were United Community Bank of

Hiawassee, Huge Hoodenpyle and Real Estate and Rental Center.
