The Union County JV Football Team had a decisive win over the Rabun Wildcats Thursday night at Rabun County High School 34-16. Freshman quarterback Kolt Owenby hooked up with Freshman Clay McConnell five times for over 100 yards and a touchdown. Owenby also ran for a score of his own and compiled over 100 yards rushing. Sophomores Manning Thomas and Jordan Mason also scored their first touchdowns of the season. Freshman Blake Gowder lengthened his streak to seven by adding another touchdown in the game. He has scored in all six ball games he has played in this season. All in all the offense totalled over 300 yards including a 6:24 scoring drive to drain the clock in the fourth quarter. The defense was solid all night long and had two huge stops inside the 10 that helped seal the victory. The team travels to Fannin County next Thursday night, September 28 for a game at 5:30 p.m. Special thanks to Coach C.T. Hussion for providing the article and Krista Miller for photos.
