Willie Nicholson Mauney

Mrs. Willie Nicholson Mauney, 98, of Blairsville, Ga., died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Union General Hospital.

Mrs. Mauney was born Tuesday, October 22, 1907 in Union County, Ga., to the late Robert Nicholson and the late Lenore Sullivan Nicholson. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Mauney was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mauney; a daughter, Mary Stephens and a grandson, Alex Mauney.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, William Robert and Cleo Mauney of Gastonia, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Jimmye and Willard Floyd; son

and daughter-in-law, Raymond

and Mary Lou Mauney, all of Blairsville; son and daughterin law, Franklin and Susie

Mauney of Rome, Ga.;

and sister, Beulah Deets of Hiawassee, Ga.; eight

grandchildren, 16 great

grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were

held Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. B.A. Buchanan and Rev. George Cline officiating. Interment followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
