S.A.F.E. Fall fun day on October 7

On Saturday, October 7th, North Georgia Technical College will be the location of the first S.A.F.E. Fall Fun Day. The day is actually a combination of three different activities designed to offer good fun and fine food for the enjoyment of the whole family.

First on the agenda is the FIFTH ANNUAL S.A.F.E. POKER RUN, featuring an enjoyable motorcycle tour through our beautiful countryside and lasting about three hours. There will be three poker stops along the way, and Union County Auto/The Hog Pen is once again providing the grand prize for the person with the winning poker hand. Registration will open at 12 P.M. with the ride beginning at 1 P.M. Basic registration is only $15.00 with additional poker hands available for $10.00. A free Poker Run Pin will be given with all advance registrations!

At 1 P.M., registration begins for the FAMILY FUN DAY. And fun is what the afternoon is all about! The college campus will be filled with a wide variety of games and activities. A magician and storyteller will entertain children and adults alike; the moonwalk will keep kids bouncing; and, the games will offer challenges and prizes. Snow cones and hot dogs, fresh from the grill, will provide refreshment along the way.

The entry fee of $3.00 provides unlimited play for children from 1-4 P.M. Purchase of a child's chili supper ticket for $5.00 includes the entry fee for the Family Fun Day.

The CHILI SUPPER will begin at 4 P.M. as the Family Fun activities draw to a close and the Poker Run riders return. Supper includes a steaming bowl of homemade chili, hot dog, and cole slaw along with a variety of breads and desserts. Beverages include coffee and iced tea. Tickets purchased at the door will be $7.00, and you can save by buying your tickets in advance for only $5.00. Advance registration for

the Poker Run and tickets for the Chili Supper can be purchased at Union County Auto/The Hog Pen at 7878 Nottely Dam Road; at the S.A.F.E. Thrift Store on Blue Ridge Highway and Kiutuestia Creek Road in Blairsville; and, at the S.A.F.E. AGAIN Thrift Store on Highway 76 and Mining Gap Road in Young Harris/Hiawassee.
